Community Resources Program

The Community Resource Program connects clients with their community in a meaningful and enduring way through:

  • Organized trips to community events & activities for socialization and development of friendships in the community
  • Increasing clients’ community awareness by increasing their knowledge and understanding of current events and issues within the community
  • Partnerships with local community organizations for inclusive community eventsLinking clients to and building relationships with community resources
  • Promoting independence and self-awareness within the clients by providing the opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed within the community through our social groups (Paper Hat Princess Society & Social IQ Group)
  • Providing opportunities for clients to advocate for themselves for community inclusion through the ARC Advocates group
  • Recreational activities such as bowling, swimming, crafts, etc. for socialization

The Community Resource Program runs out of the Adult Resource Centre in Dashwood and has a monthly calendar of all available opportunities and activities. Please refer the “Events” section of the website for more information.
